Instead of flying to Canada, my parents desired a 20-hour journey by road. “It’ll be fun,” they insisted. Looking back, it was an interesting adventure in which I encountered crocodile bread and gusty landscapes. For most of the trip, we were on the highway, clocking in at over 55 miles per hour. The Golden Gate Bridge, painted in International Orange, was congested with traffic, however. It took just over 20 minutes to cross it by car.
On the way back, we visited Mt. Rainier and Crater Lake! The lake had a deep shade of cobalt blue and was gigantic. Its maximum depth is 1,943 feet, making it hold the title for Deepest Lake in the United States.
